His love for the sport and animal was further cemented as he progressed from a beginner to mastering the intricate art of show jumping. Rogelio lists his father, his first trainer, Yvonne de Muniz and his current trainer Marie Hecart as his major sources of influence and inspiration.

They have been the catalyst for his determination, physical and mental preparation and clearly outlined goals: becoming among the world’s ten best show jumpers. “To be the best, you have to beat the best” is the philosophy he adheres to. Rogelio has been riding and competing in the USA and internationally for over 6 years while completing his college degree in the Northwood University, Florida, one of the equestrian capitals of the world. He has found that in contrast to his native country, the infrastructure and ample variety of the horse parks and the level of training and professionalism are far superior, widening the advantage pool as a professional equestrian. The opportunities he has found while developing his career in the United States are ample- he has been parallel-pathing his education coupled with all-year training with his beloved horse, Precieuse Platiere. When he’s not taking the equestrian world by the reins, Rogelio enjoys going to the gym, playing soccer and spending quality time with his friends and family.
